ok, here's a poem I wrote. It's not perfect, but I just wrote it in like 5 minutes and I haven't written in a while again (I stop sometimes and then start again when I'm bored. lol)
here it is, hope you like it...
Here's to...
Here's to those who showed us the door; To those who swept our feet from the floor. Here's the the people who took a big chance; To those people who dared to get a bad glance. Here's to the ones who opened our eyes; Here's to the women and not just the guys. Here's to the artists who wouldn't say no; Here's to the people who wouldn't let go. Here's to the believers who stood for what's right; Here's to the concerts that kept us up all night. Here's to the times that seemed to have fade; Here's to the hippies who just wanted to get laid. Here's to the times that have are now in the past; Here's to making the most of the present while it still lasts.

Oh no it's fine. I actually changed this board so that all stories/poetry etc. can go here. Before it was just Green Day fan-fics. So, yeah. lol But, really, that poem is really good. I'm a sucker for poetry. I got some of my own, I might post some laterz.

HA me too! We read Romeo and Juliet last year. Pretty awesome. Except most of the stupid people in my class complained. =/ I'm also a big Edgar Allan Poe fan!

Yeah, I read Romeo and Juliet my freshman year (Josh [my bf] actually quotes from it from time to time) and The tragedy of Julius Ceacar (i cant spell it) my sophomore year and All's Well That Ends Well last year. I was supposed to read Hamlet but our class didn't get around to it. BUt in college I'm actually taking a class based on Shakespeare. I'm pretty excited for that class. lol. And Edgar Allan Poe is a genious, reminds me of a very early form of goth. lol. dark, suicidal, but a genious.

We actually read some Edgar Allan Poe my freshman year in highschool. It was really good. And listened to a tape of someone reading one of his poems. My cousin actually has a cd of Vincent Price reading Poe's short stories/poems!!! I'm like, how awesome is that??? lol

Yeah, our school is really big on Poe. You can't take an English class without reading something from him. The Tell Tale Heart (I think that's what it's called) thouroughly freaked me out though. Sometimes I still have nightmares about that story. Genious, but freaky. His poems are so dark. It's great. But his life, so messed up. I mean seriously. And sad too. What with the people he knew getting TB and stuff. I would think I was cursed if I had his life.

Ah! I adore the Tell Tale Heart! In, I think it was 7th grade, we went to see a performace of it! Really scary, but absolutely amazing! The Raven is also really good. And last year we read the Cask of Amontillado. THAT, was creepy. lol
Yeah, his life was pretty... weird. There was a bit about him in our English book, and I gotta feel bad for the guy.

I LOVE the Cask of Amontillado!!! lol. sorry. It was great. Again, freaky, but great. I think his literature is the only freaky things I can stand. Like, I don't watch scary movies or books, but I'll read Poe. lol. that kinda sounds wrong if you have my brain... :/

Same here. I can't go and see horror movies, or read scary books. But, I adore Poe's writing.
No offense to anyone, but I don't see how seeing a movie about someone like... getting chopped up into little pieces is nice to watch? Like, why go see a movie of people getting tortured. That's what I think of movies like Saw, or any of those other horror flicks. I prefer a nice comedy. lol
